Yes, Moderna and Pfizer have updated their mRNA vaccines based on the spike protein of the BA.1/.2., which is already slightly outdated with the rise of BA.4/.5.

While mRNA vaccines can be easily altered, studying their efficacy in neutralizing new SARS-CoV-2 variants will still take time, sadly. So, it's really a race against the variants.
