IMHO, I think numerous factors underpin amyloid build up, including lifestyle (like poor sleep or diet) and environmental factors (like toxins or viruses).

That's why no single factor fully accounts for dementia. In the natural experiment study, for instance, the vaccine only reduced dementia occurence by about 20%, indicating that other factors likely explain the remaining 80%.
