That’s a good question; I didn’t think of it.

Upon some brief research, it seems that the syncytin gene has roles in muscle repair in males — via myoblast fusion — specifically in males.

For the other THE1B gene, I’m not sure if it has any roles in males as it was just recently discovered in 2018.
