Thanks for commenting and yeah, I've seen that Paxlovid study. It's true that remdesivir might reduce the risk of long covid if given early, but I remember that it's very expensive and not accessible in lower-income countries.

Metformin, in contrast, is cheap and widely available. And metformin may also act via non-virial pathways in preventing long-covid, although this is just speculation.

That said, Paxlovid seems good enough, with strong observational data backing its effectiveness in preventing long-Covid. Not to mention that Omicron appears less likely to result in long-Covid.

And I'm sorry to hear that you caught Covid. I hope you will recover in due time.
