Thanks a lot for commenting. I didn't really ask myself that many questions, honestly, since it just looks like the typical RCT, but I know I should.

Regarding the mechanism of action, each of the three herbs seems to have more than one mechanism already. So, pinpointing how exactly the adaptogen works would be difficult.

About the conflict of interest, the paper states none besides the employment though.

"The authors declare no conflict of interest. A.P. is self-employed at the research and development company Phytomed AB and has no shares or financial interest in any pharmaceutical company. The funders had no role in the study’s design, in the collection, analyses, or interpretation of data, in the writing of the manuscript, or in the decision to publish the results."

But I see your point. This adaptogen is like a health supplement with minimal effect sizes.
