Thank you for your well-thought comments here. You raised many good points about aerosols and Covid-19. I have actually submitted a draft about aerosols to a publication in Medium, but not sure if they want it yet.
About the PCR, I still think it is specific for SARS-CoV-2. The PCR test also tests for other SARS-CoV-2 genes such as the N and ORF genes. Plus, I think it is very unlikely for other chimeric coronaviruses to possess the same spike protein as SARS-CoV-2 with the exact genetic sequence. Even the current PCR test can’t detect the spike protein of certain SARS-CoV-2 variants and has to rely on the N and ORF genes instead.
And I actually bookmarked both the covid origin articles in medium, but haven’t read them in-depth yet, which I plan to soon and maybe come up with something myself. But I appreciate you pointing the articles to me.
