Thank you for your comment. That is indeed a tricky question, even for scientists, I believe. The prevalence studies I cited did not investigate the causes of the chronic fatigue cases, unfortunately. Before Covid, post-viral chronic condition wasn't a well-acknowledged condition, so research in this area was scarce.
