Thank you for showing me that article. Honestly, even I wasn't aware of the difference between case and infection fatality rates (CFRs vs IFRs).

While I'm not an epidemiologist, I think the real problem with Covid-19 is that it's highly contagious. So more exposure = more hospitalizations = more deaths.

I've also heard that excess deaths is a better metric to comprehend the burden of Covid-19. You can read about excess deaths here, which I find it very useful: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-02497-w
