Thank you for sharing your experience and I'm glad you have recovered after that grueling 5-6 months. From what I understand, the shingles vaccine can only prevent (not treat) post-herpes neuralgia, including a possible recurrence.

While the vaccine is generally recommended for those aged 50 and above, it can be offered earlier based on health status or a history of shingles. To confirm, I'd suggest consulting a healthcare professional.
