I'm no statistician, so I can't really give an expert response to that. But it makes sense to me that the older age groups, even with vaccination, would still be at greater risk of severe Covid-19 than the younger age groups (vaccinated or not). So, I agree that vaccines can only help so much, especially without boosters and with the advent of Delta, in the older age groups. Other non-vaccine public health interventions still matter in the end.
