Much of the attention and global efforts are being directed to Covid vaccination now (as it should be), but it's also a reality that there are other pathogens like S. pneumoniae that science still needs to address.

And not to mention that S. pneumoniae is a bacterium. If I'm not wrong, the antiviral innate immune system mounted against SARS-CoV-2 could indirectly protect against the flu virus too. But I guess we can't expect the same for a bacterium.
