I finally created a Substack!

Welcome to The Infected Neuron, a publication newsletter that decodes the infectious origins of neurodegenerative diseases.

Hello everyone!

I’ve written on Medium for nearly 5 years, mainly on infectious diseases. I still remember the first blog article I published on Medium on Jan 1, 2020, on the emerging role of herpesviruses in Alzheimer’s disease. Yes, it was my New Year's resolution to start blogging haha.

As the Covid-19 pandemic unfolded, however, my blogging shifted to coronaviruses and vaccines. But now that things are more stable, I find myself returning to my original passion to explore the underappreciated role of infectious agents in triggering or driving neurodegeneration.

That’s why I launched The Infected Neuron in Substack to decode the infectious origins of neurodegenerative diseases.

I chose Substack because it is more suitable for delving into highly niche topics, as my articles will be highly interconnected and specialized. Medium, on the other hand, is more appropriate for standalone articles for everyone to read. That said, I may republish some of my future Substack articles on Medium if they are suitable for the audience here.

Meanwhile, I’d greatly appreciate it if you could visit The Infected Neuron (see About here) and consider subscribing if you want to explore the infectious origins of neurodegenerative diseases with me!

I will send an official announcement at Substack next week.

Author’s note: For my email subscribers at Medium, I’ve already imported the list to my Substack. But please feel free to unsubscribe here (you need to sign in with your email first) if you wish — no hard feelings from my side.

Oct 19 update: I’ve removed the entire import list due to some concerns raised, so please consider subscribing to my substack newsletter here, thanks :))
