I doubt vaccines batter the body though, as vaccine responses are short-lived, and the immune system recovers and becomes stronger. This is why vaccinated people have a much lower risk of progression into severe disease once infected. The coronavirus, in contrast, can cause chronic syndrome that batters the body indefinitely.

Although the same can be said for natural immunity, natural immunity depends on the severity of initial infection. If a person only got mild or no symptoms from Covid-19, then vaccines can offer more protection.
