I do freelance medical writing too but only occasionally. Freelance clients (from high-income countries) usually pay much better than what I typically earn on Medium. (I usually get paid by word count though.) But if finances are out of the equation, I prefer writing on Medium over freelancing for many reasons.

I guess I'm fortunate that I'm still young. I don't have many expenses, so here I am being more active on Medium than freelancing, on top of my master's degree work. Anyway, it's nice to know you and I wish you the best. :))
