I can agree that shut downs or lockdowns have their negative consequences, such as a toll on mental health or neglect of medical attention/check-ups. And the financial toll is perhaps one of the most burdensome ones.

One of the comments in this article also said that lockdowns should be strategic and implemented only in certain regions of high risks, which I must admit that it's a valid point.
