I am not a doctor but the bee sting sensation sounds like paresthesia.
The location and extent of paresthesia, i.e., whether they are localized in the hands or spread through the entire arm, depends on the cause, according to my partner who's a doctor.
For instance, diabetes-associated paresthesia is localized to the hands and feet like gloves and socks. Ulnar nerve impingement-related paresthesia would spread to the inner forearms, and blood obstruction-related paresthesia would spread to the entire arm.
But if your doctor had never heard anything about your case, it's probably more complicated than paresthesia and maybe you can consider getting a second opinion if you think the symptoms are serious.
