As far as I know, we only have randomized clinical trial data from Moderna and Pfizer involving a few thousand adolescents. But 2k-3k sample size is hardly enough to detect very rare vaccine-related adverse events like myocarditis.

In fact, the myocarditis signal was first detected in a population-based observational study in Israel, where it mainly affects males aged 16-25.
